Information from Parents Meeting.

Parents Meeting 26/09/2018

In ‘my body week’ we talked about different parts of our bodies and how to take care of it.

Puppet making

We have designed, sewn and added detail to our puppets.

This week we tried out lots of new PE activities. Here are some pictures of us trying Judo, Lacrosse, Blind Football and Orienteering.

Pictures from our amazing trip to Blackpool Zoo

We walked around our local area looking for human and physical features as part of our geography topic.

We went into the woodland area for our treasure hunt. We used the QR Code reader on the ipad to find the clues.  Then we used the experience to help us in our big write when we wrote a diary extract.

We all really enjoyed the robot workshop (staff too) and the children demonstrated how well they work together.

Light experiment – we worked together to investigate how shadows change.

Here we are, on World book day, sharing some pages from Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone in our new library area.

Electricity – lots of practical work and we made our own switches too.

We experimented with Robotics. We built Lego robots and controlling them with the IPad.

We all became dragon archaeologists and used artefacts to find dragons.

As part of our design and technology topic we have been cooking. The children weighed, mixed and kneaded their dough to make Egyptian flatbread.

As part of our science on food chains, we were investigating owl pellets and finding the skulls and small bones of the animals in the owl’s food chain.

Some pictures from our family learning afternoon.

Our trip to touchstones to take part in an ancient Egyptian workshop was brilliant! The children shared their knowledge and learnt new facts. We went upstairs to appraise the art and into the free museum part to look around.

Here are our eggs. Our eggs show clearly what happens to our teeth when we have too much sugar. Yuk!

For our investigation on teeth the children are investigating what happens when you have too many sugary drinks. Results coming soon!

We looked at the art from Wendy Evans as inspiration for our batik. After colour mixing we designed our pattern and used wax to trace the lines. We added buttons and stitches to our final design.

Lots of practical activities in literacy to help with our sentence structures.

In R.E. the children have been looking at the story of Jonah and the Whale.

In the hot seat, here are the children taking on a character and having to answer the questions posed by the children.
