Healthy Young Minds (01706 676 000)

Workshops are available for parents of children with a diagnosis of ASC, looking at a range of different difficulties associated with ASC, including sleep, challenging behaviour and     anxiety.  You can ring the number above to book on to the workshops. Riding the Rapids course  is a separate course its  10 week  course for parents/ care givers  looking at behaviour management strategies. You can ring the number above to enquire if this course could be helpful to you.  Consultations for parents and carers of young people with a  diagnosis of ASC are available every Wednesday morning.

Home start has a range of support available including Siblings groups for children aged 6-15 years. Support for parents in the home and regular coffee mornings. Please ring the number above for further information.

Barnardoes offers social sessions for young people (short breaks) including agirl’s group for ages 8+. There is also the SHINE course – for parents for children with social communication difficulties aged under 5 and the SHINE+ course - for parents for children with social communication difficulties aged over 5.

SENDIASS (01706 769634 rochdale.sendiass@barnardos.org.uk) are a advice and support service around special educational needs. If you need any support in relation to Educational health Care Plans (EHCP) SENDIASS can support with this.

Enlightening use a creative and holistic approach to empower young people in education, health and wellbeing. There is a small charge for some of Enlightening’s groups. Counselling service developed by people with learning disabilities, People with a learning disability or autism can receive support, as well as carers.

Rochdale Additional Needs Service RANS (01706 926400)

Supports young people with additional needs in school settings. They can provide specific interventions or consult with school staff regarding strategies to support children with social communication difficulties. RANS also provide coffee mornings and consultations for carers of young people with additional needs.

Specifically for children with a diagnosis of ASC. The named person for this service is Chris Holyle, Chris does run some sleep clinics but dates for the Sleep clinics are issued per rota. Please contact Chris on the contact number above for further information.

KIDDO run Workshops in Heywood area for young people (ages 8-11 years) with low self-esteem and low confidence.

Heywood Autism and SEN Support (07771523775)

Parent support group for children with or without a diagnosis of ASC. They also offer other support including counselling and life coaching. Based in Heywood but parents from other areas of Rochdale can also attend.
